Hannover, March 5, 2009: Have you ever wondered where the metals that are used in your mobile phone, laptop or other consumer electronics originate? Neither had most companies selling these products when the makeITfair campaign started. Most companies have slowly started researching this question. These are the results of an update on a long-running survey published today at Hannover 's CeBIT by makeITfair. "We have specifically asked companies about their actions towards the supply chain of their metals, such as cobalt, coltan and tin. We recognize that some big leaps have been taken since the last review.

手機所使用的「衝突礦產」長期存在使用童兵的現象，在剛果，每年有13億美元的衝突礦產在進行交易。草根協調團體(GRG, Grass Reconciliation Group)及Enough Project針對美國和電子公司提出終止這些現象的策略，主張電子公司應該要終止這些供應鏈，並且協助停止使用童兵。
